Meet the Officers!
President
Sam Wright
Howdy! My name is Samantha Wright and I am your 2023-2024 Animal Welfare and Behavior Club president! I am a junior animal science major from Helotes, Texas, and hope to go to veterinary school to become a large animal veterinarian and am interested in either sport horse or feed animal medicine. I have worked at Hildebrand Equine Complex the past few semesters, which I loved, but am excited to start my new job at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital and gain more medical experience. In my free time, I love to be outside, spending time with animals, or just jamming out in my truck! I am so excited for this upcoming year!
Vice President
Erin Folliard
My name is Erin Folliard, I am a sophmore in Ecology and Conservation Biology and I am running for Vice President and Secretary. I was a treasurer for the club this year, and would love to continue doing leadership for this wonderful club. I have a strong passion for animal welfare and would ultimately love to continue it in some way as a career. I have done years of fostering animals, volunteering, and working at the Austin Wildlife Rescue, rehabilitating animals, and it has become a huge passion of mine. By electing me as your Vice President or Secretary, I would lead by being a patient and compassionate leader.
Secretary
Colby Marek
iHowdy! My name is Colby Marek and I am a sophomore Animal Science major with a minor in Biomedical Science and also pursuing the Equine Certificate. I am from Granger, Texas where I grew up farming and raising cattle on my family farm! I plan to go to veterinary school to become a mixed practitioner with more of a focus on large animals. From all my past experiences, I have come to learn just how important animal welfare is for every industry from research to production. I can't wait to serve as the Secretary and bring so much to this club and watch it grow!

Financial Committee
Mia LeBoeuf
Howdy, I’m Mia LeBoeuf, and I am one of your finance committee officers this year! I’m originally from Southern Louisiana, but I moved to Texas roughly 12 years ago, and have been here ever since. I’m a junior Animal Science major, and I am pursuing my equine certificate. I love building confidence in people through animals, and hope to work somewhere in the service industry. I especially love training my dogs, working with kids, and painting in my free time! I'm very excited for this upcoming year, and can't wait to meet everyone!
Financial Committee
Anthony Greenwood
Howdy, there! I'm Anthony Greenwood, a junior majoring in Animal Science from Carrollton! I love all things outdoors and animal related, and found my way into the AWBC by following my passion for understanding and providing for animals. Turns out that if you want to understand animals better there's no better place to go than the AWBC. I see the biodiversity we have on this planet as a unique blessing, and I enjoy learning about what makes every species special! I've grown up around animals my whole life, starting with some domestic ones like dogs, cats, and rabbits, but recently I've unofficially adopted some abnormal ones: owls, geese, squirrels, a turtle named Franklin, and a flock of finches. I'll admit, I don't have much obvious leadership experience, as most of my trials have come in small ways throughout my life; there's no one prominent event that I can point to and say "that one." Despite that, I still lead from the front, and take any chance I can to throw myself at a problem that I think I can solve.
